How do you see IORIS supporting the mandate of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources?

We asked Rommel Adolf Diciano, from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in the Philippine how IORIS can support the mandate of his organisation. This is what he said.

“IORIS is actually a very good platform in furthering our organisation’s objectives. As someone from fishery law enforcement, it pays for us to have very good domain awareness and interoperability with all other government agencies, especially so that efficiency of law enforcement is no longer only confined with Illegal Unreported Unregulated fishing practises.

IORIS also looks into other crimes that may be perpetrated via the sea.
In this case it’s a very good platform for agencies to be acting for a problem and resolving it thoroughly, in effect achieving very good interoperability, within the whole of the Philippine government, in addressing all concerns that could possibly come along our way. “
